Welcome to HAYAT!

We welcome you on the website of the HAYAT Human Security Project in Upper Egypt.

According to our motto “investing in people – building resilient communities”, the overall goal of HAYAT is to improve the livelihoods of vulnerable households, youth, women and children in target communities in Minya Governorate (El-Edwa and Maghagha districts) through inclusive, sustainable and pro-poor socio-economic development.

HAYAT has kicked off in June 2013 and is funded by the United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security (UNTFHS), the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC) and the Government of Japan. The program is jointly implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

We wish you a pleasant and informative tour on our website and please feel free to contact us in case you need more insights.
